Product Information

Our 3 1/2" S-Shape Vertical Blinds are built around one idea: a vertical blind should not have to look like a vertical blind. Each vane is formed into a pronounced "S" curve along its length, so instead of hanging as a flat plane it falls in a soft, rolling wave, closer to a pleated drapery panel than a traditional blind.

The difference is immediately visible. Where flat vanes read hard and commercial, the S curve catches light on the outer bend and shades the inner one, creating a gentle rhythm of highlight and shadow across the window. You get the practicality of a vertical with a look that belongs in a living room.

The S Curve Advantage

  • Drapery-Like Appearance: The pronounced S profile gives each vane the soft, rolling fall of a pleated curtain panel, softening a large window or door in a way flat vanes cannot.
  • Deeper Overlap When Closed: The curve lets neighboring vanes nest into one another, closing gaps more tightly for better privacy and noticeably better light control than flat vanes.
  • Light and Shadow Along Every Fold: The curve creates its own highlight and shade, giving the treatment dimension throughout the day as the sun moves.
  • Upgraded Dust Cover Valance Included: A 3 1/2" valance comes with the blind, in your choice of square or round corners.
  • Durable, Easy-Clean PVC: Moisture-resistant and low-maintenance. A damp cloth is all the care it needs.
  • Standard Wand Control: Smooth, cord-free rotation and draw, which is safer for homes with children and pets.
  • Non-Toxic, Lead-Free, Fire Retardant: Safe materials meeting fire safety standards.

Twelve Colorways Across Four Design Families

The S-Shape collection is deliberately focused, offered in four of our most popular Signature designs, each in three coordinated tones:

  • Mammoth in Parchment, Powder, and Winter Blue, our softest cool-toned family.
  • Turnberry in Washed White, Washed Grey, and Washed Brown, with a weathered, organic character.
  • Vail in Beige, Linen, and Oat, warm neutrals with a fine linen-like surface.
  • Wanderlust in Snowdrift, Gypsum, and Desert Sand, earthy tones for relaxed, natural interiors.

Pro Tip: The S curve reads very differently in person than in a flat product photo, since a photo cannot show how the profile catches light. Order free samples (up to 10, shipped free) and hold one up vertically beside your window to see the effect.

S-Shape or Flat Vane: Which Should You Order?

All four S-Shape designs are also offered as standard flat vanes in our Signature Collection. Here is the practical trade-off:

Softening a Sliding Door Without Losing Function

Sliding glass doors are the hardest opening in the house to make look good. They are wide, tall, and constantly in use, which rules out most soft treatments. S-Shape verticals give you the visual softness of drapery while keeping everything a vertical does well: the vanes draw cleanly aside so you walk straight through, and one continuous headrail covers the entire opening.

Stack direction: Left or right stack draws every vane to one side, and you should choose the side opposite the way your door slides so the stack never blocks the doorway. Split stack parts the vanes in the middle like curtains, which suits a centered window, and is available with controls on either side. Extra vanes can be added for a fuller, denser look when closed.

How to Measure & Install

Taking accurate measurements is straightforward. Let us walk you through the process!

To ensure a perfect fit, keep these essential pointers in mind:

  • Always use a metal measuring tape for the best accuracy; fabric tapes can stretch and lead to errors.
  • If your width measurement falls on a 1/16" or 1/32" mark, round down to the nearest 1/8".
  • If your height measurement lands on a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round up to the closest 1/8".
  • Always consult the Product Specifications for the product you are measuring for. If you have questions, we will be happy to help!

Instructions for Inside Mounted Roller Shades

Depth Requirements: For an inside mount, you'll need to make sure the window frame is deep enough to accommodate the roller shade. Refer to the Product Specifications for minimum depths depending on your chosen valance option.

Measuring the width

  • The width measurement is found by measuring the inside of the window frame in three locations: the top, middle, and bottom.
  • Choose the smallest of these measurements.
  • If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round down to the nearest 1/8".
  • That's your width for your roller shades.

Measuring the height

  • The height measurement is found by measuring the inside of the window frame in three locations: the left, center, and right.
  • Choose the largest of these measurements.
  • If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round up to the nearest 1/8".
  • That's your height for your roller shades.
Do not make any deductions. The factory will make a small deduction to ensure the roller mechanism fits inside your window frame. If you would like more light coverage, an outside mount will minimize any potential light gaps.

Instructions for Outside Mounted Roller Shades

An outside mount sits outside of the window and the window frame. Because it is meant to cover the entire space of the window, you'll need to make some additions to the measurements to make sure you order the right size. Please follow the instructions below.

Measuring the width

  • Measure the width of the area you want the shade to cover across the top.
  • We suggest adding at least 4 inches to the width (2 inches per side) to minimize light gaps.
  • That's your width for your roller shades.

Measuring the height

  • Measure the height from where you want the headrail to sit down to the window sill or desired length.
  • We suggest adding at least 4 inches to the height (2 inches top, 2 inches bottom).
  • That's your height for your roller shades.
