Faux wood blinds are a lower cost, synthetic alternative to real wood blinds. They are man made from high quality, synthetic materials and can be more durable than real wood blinds. Many people choose faux wood blinds over real wood due to its ability to withstand hot or humid climates, which can cause wood blinds to warp, swell or fade. Faux wood binds come in a variety of colors, including wood toned and wood textured to be the perfect finishing touch to any room. Whether you are looking for a bright white to compliment your baseboards, or a deep cherry wood finish to match your furniture, we have the perfect finish to complete the look of your home or office. Since faux wood blinds are made from synthetic materials, they are easy to clean and work as a natural insulator.

Faux Wood Blinds Sizing and Options

When shopping for Faux wood blinds, you will want to consider the size of horizontal slat. They are available in either 1”, 1 ½”, 2” or 2 ½” slats. Smaller slats are perfect for doors or small windows that do not have a deep window area to allow for larger slats to open and close. The most popular size is 2”, which is just large enough to allow ample light when opened and a good amount of privacy and light control when closed. The slat size fits perfectly in most windowsills for a perfect inside mounted fit. For even more light and privacy control, you can choose the routless option, which means that there are no holes drilled through the slats to connect each slat together which is also commonly referred to as privacy blinds. You will have more light control and avoid light seepage through the routed holes. Routless or privacy blind method, the slats are simply cradled by the cords rather than having them strung through holes in the blinds. It is recommended to use the routless option on an inside mounted blind, where it will not be exposed to a lot of movement. Doors that are frequently opened and closed, or areas that are open to children or pets would be better suited for a standard, routed option. Adding cloth tapes to our 2” Faux Wood blind is an alternative to routless/privacy blind while maintaining privacy and light filtering.
