- Start with weave density. Open, airy weaves let more light and view through and read casual and breezy. Tighter, denser weaves filter more light, offer better daytime privacy, and feel more formal and substantial. If privacy is your priority, always go tighter.
- Then pick your tone. Pale naturals and whites keep a room feeling bright, open, and coastal. Mid-tone honeys and camels add the most warmth and read as classic. Deep cocoas, umbers, and tortoise shades create drama and pair beautifully with dark wood floors and furniture.
- Consider the fiber character. Flat reeds give crisp horizontal lines. Round bamboo reads more rustic and textural. Grass and jute blends add subtle irregularity and a softer, more handcrafted look.

Light, Privacy, and What to Expect After Dark
These shades are unlined by design, which is what lets the weave glow and keeps the look clean and organic. It also means they offer semi-privacy, not full privacy. During the day they soften sunlight and obscure the view inside while keeping a hint of connection to the outdoors. After dark, with lights on inside, the weave may show silhouettes.
For bedrooms, bathrooms, or any street-facing window where you want round-the-clock privacy, we recommend pairing these with drapery panels, or choosing a room-darkening treatment for that window. Because the weave is open, an outside mount with a few inches of overlap on each side will noticeably reduce light gaps compared to an inside mount.

Every shade is custom-made to your measurements, so you get a proper fit instead of a stock approximation.
- Width: 20" minimum to 72" maximum.
- Height: 24" minimum to 72" maximum.
- Mounting: Multi-directional brackets support both inside and outside mount, with a hidden bracket system that leaves no visible hardware.
- Length Variance: A natural material variance of roughly 3/8" to 1/2" in length is normal for woven shades.
- Care and Maintenance: Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on a low upholstery setting. Natural fibers should not be soaked or scrubbed, and we do not recommend woven woods for steamy bathrooms or consistently wet areas.

- Your woven natural shade is made with materials harvested from nature.
- Due to the natural characteristics of the product, there may be a 1/2"-3/8" variance on length.
- Each harvest of natural fibers is unique and will have variations in color, grain, texture, striations and warping. As a result of these inherent qualities, no two shades are identical, nor can they be.
- Over time, exposure to light will soften and slightly darken the color of the shade.
- Small cracks in bamboo slats are natural and unavoidable.

To ensure a perfect fit, keep these essential pointers in mind:
- Always use a metal measuring tape for the best accuracy; fabric tapes can stretch and lead to errors.
- If your width measurement falls on a 1/16" or 1/32" mark, round down to the nearest 1/8".
- If your height measurement lands on a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round up to the closest 1/8".

Instructions for Inside Mounted Woven Wood Shades
Depth Requirements: For an inside mount, you'll need to make sure the window frame is deep enough to accommodate the woven wood shade. Refer to the Product Specifications for minimum depths depending on your chosen valance option.
Measuring the width
- The width measurement is found by measuring the inside of the window frame in three locations: the top, middle, and bottom.
- Choose the smallest of these measurements.
- If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round down to the nearest 1/8".
- That's your width for your woven wood shades.
Measuring the height
- The height measurement is found by measuring the inside of the window frame in three locations: the left, center, and right.
- Choose the largest of these measurements.
- If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round up to the nearest 1/8".
- That's your height for your woven wood shades.
Instructions for Outside Mounted Woven Wood Shades
An outside mount sits outside of the window and the window frame. Because it is meant to cover the entire space of the window, you'll need to make some additions to the measurements to make sure you order the right size. Please follow the instructions below.
Measuring the width
- Measure the width of the area you want the shade to cover across the top.
- We suggest adding at least 4 inches to the width (2 inches per side) to minimize light gaps.
- That's your width for your woven wood shades.
Measuring the height
- Measure the height from where you want the headrail to sit down to the window sill or desired length.
- We suggest adding at least 4 inches to the height (2 inches top, 2 inches bottom).
- That's your height for your woven wood shades.
