Product Information

Our Motorized Woven Wood Shades pair genuine natural texture with push-button control. Each shade is hand-woven from bamboo and other natural fibers, then fitted with a quiet, rechargeable motor and a handheld remote, so the shade rises into soft Roman folds on its own.

Light passes through the weave and scatters into a warm, dappled glow that no printed fabric can imitate. With the motor doing the lifting, that look now works on tall windows, windows behind furniture, and whole walls of glass that would be a chore to raise by hand.

Natural Texture, Raised at the Touch of a Button

  • Rechargeable Battery Motor: No wiring and no electrician. The motor is built in, runs on a rechargeable battery rated for up to 500 recharges, and the charger is included with your shade.
  • Handheld Remote Control: A radio-frequency remote lifts and lowers the shade from anywhere in the room. No line of sight required.
  • Control Up to 16 Shades: One remote runs up to 16 shades, one at a time or all together, so a wall of windows moves as one.
  • Genuine Natural Fibers: Real bamboo and natural materials woven on hand-fed looms, for texture with actual depth and dimension.
  • Five Natural Weaves: Papara Natural, Malta Ferret, Hatteras Camel, Lau Camel, and Tiva Honey, from pale and airy to warm honey and camel tones.
  • The Signature Dappled Glow: Unlined by design, the weave gently filters sunlight while still giving substantial daytime privacy.
  • Tailored Roman Fold: Lifts evenly and stacks into neat folds instead of bunching, so it looks intentional at every height.
  • Integrated Valance: Built in as standard, concealing the motor and brackets for a clean, finished top edge.
  • No Cords, No Controls on the Window: Nothing to reach, tangle, or tie off. A safer choice around children and pets.
A man raises Papara Natural Motorized Woven Wood Shades with a remote, bringing garden views and sunlight into a bright living room.
Raise or lower any shade from across the room. No reaching, no cords.

How the Motor Works

Your shade arrives with the motor installed behind the valance and the battery on board. Charge it, pair the remote once, and you are done. There are no wall switches to add and no cables running down the window frame. When the battery runs low you recharge it with the included charger.

Ordering several shades for one room? They pair to the same remote and can be grouped, so one press raises every shade on that wall together.

Where Motorized Woven Woods Make the Biggest Difference

  • Tall and hard-to-reach windows: Stairwells, windows over a sofa or a kitchen counter, and anything you would need a step stool for.
  • Rooms with many windows: Open or close the whole room in one press instead of walking shade to shade.
  • Living rooms and dens: Set the light for a movie or an afternoon nap without leaving your seat.
  • Homes with kids, pets, or limited mobility: No cords anywhere and no lifting the shade by hand.

Pro Tip: Texture can be difficult to judge in photos, and weave density is the single easiest thing to get wrong. Order free samples (up to 10, shipped free), hold them up to your window, and look at how much light comes through before you commit.

Every Shade Is One of a Kind (And That's the Point)

Your shade is made from materials harvested from nature, so expect variation in color, grain, and texture. Each harvest of natural fiber is slightly different, small cracks in bamboo slats are normal, and no two shades are ever identical. Natural fibers may also soften and deepen slightly in color with sun exposure over time.

None of this is a defect. It is the reason woven woods look handmade instead of manufactured, and it is worth knowing before you order, especially if you are ordering several shades for one room.

Light, Privacy, and What to Expect After Dark

These shades are unlined by design, which is what lets the weave glow and keeps the look clean and organic. It also means they offer semi-privacy, not full privacy. During the day they soften sunlight and obscure the view inside. After dark, with lights on inside, the weave may show silhouettes.

For bedrooms, bathrooms, or any street-facing window where you want round-the-clock privacy, we recommend pairing these with drapery panels, or choosing one of our motorized blackout shades for that window.

Motorized or Cordless?

The same natural woven construction is available two ways:

Feature Motorized Woven Wood (this shade) Cordless Woven Wood
How It Lifts Remote control, rechargeable motor By hand, from the bottom rail
Best For Tall, numerous, or hard-to-reach windows Windows within easy reach, tighter budgets
Group Control Up to 16 shades on one remote Each shade operated individually
Headrail Depth 2 3/8", to house the motor 1 1/8"

Sizing, Mounting & Care

Every shade is custom-made to your measurements, so you get a proper fit instead of a stock approximation.

  • Width: 20" minimum to 72" maximum.
  • Height: 24" minimum to 72" maximum. Because the material is natural, finished length can vary by 3/8" to 1/2".
  • Headrail: 2 3/8" deep by 5/8" high.
  • Inside Mount Depth: 1 3/4" minimum (2 3/4" for a fully flush fit). Outside mount has no depth requirement.
  • Inside Mount Deduction: 3/8" total (3/16" per side) is taken from your width so the shade clears the frame.
  • Stack Height: About 9 1/2" when fully raised. For an unobstructed view, mount outside and above the window so the stack sits over the wall.
  • Installation: All hardware is included. Brackets screw into the frame or wall like any Roman shade. No wiring.
  • Care: Dust lightly with a feather duster or the soft brush attachment of a vacuum. Keep natural fibers away from moisture.

Important Product Notes

  • Your woven natural shade is made with materials harvested from nature.
  • Due to the natural characteristics of the product, there may be a 1/2"-3/8" variance on length.
  • Each harvest of natural fibers is unique and will have variations in color, grain, texture, striations and warping. As a result of these inherent qualities, no two shades are identical, nor can they be.
  • Over time, exposure to light will soften and slightly darken the color of the shade.
  • Small cracks in bamboo slats are natural and unavoidable.

How to Measure & Install

Taking accurate measurements is straightforward. Let us walk you through the process!

To ensure a perfect fit, keep these essential pointers in mind:

  • Always use a metal measuring tape for the best accuracy; fabric tapes can stretch and lead to errors.
  • If your width measurement falls on a 1/16" or 1/32" mark, round down to the nearest 1/8".
  • If your height measurement lands on a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round up to the closest 1/8".
  • Always consult the Product Specifications for the product you are measuring for. If you have questions, we will be happy to help!

Instructions for Inside Mounted Woven Wood Shades

Depth Requirements: For an inside mount, you'll need to make sure the window frame is deep enough to accommodate the woven wood shade. Refer to the Product Specifications for minimum depths depending on your chosen valance option.

Measuring the width

  • The width measurement is found by measuring the inside of the window frame in three locations: the top, middle, and bottom.
  • Choose the smallest of these measurements.
  • If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round down to the nearest 1/8".
  • That's your width for your woven wood shades.

Measuring the height

  • The height measurement is found by measuring the inside of the window frame in three locations: the left, center, and right.
  • Choose the largest of these measurements.
  • If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round up to the nearest 1/8".
  • That's your height for your woven wood shades.
Do not make any deductions. The factory will make a small deduction to ensure the shade fits inside your window frame. If you would like more light coverage, an outside mount will minimize any potential light gaps.

Instructions for Outside Mounted Woven Wood Shades

An outside mount sits outside of the window and the window frame. Because it is meant to cover the entire space of the window, you'll need to make some additions to the measurements to make sure you order the right size. Please follow the instructions below.

Measuring the width

  • Measure the width of the area you want the shade to cover across the top.
  • We suggest adding at least 4 inches to the width (2 inches per side) to minimize light gaps.
  • That's your width for your woven wood shades.

Measuring the height

  • Measure the height from where you want the headrail to sit down to the window sill or desired length.
  • We suggest adding at least 4 inches to the height (2 inches top, 2 inches bottom).
  • That's your height for your woven wood shades.
