Product Information
Our Signature Cordless Woven Wood Shades are the step up from our Classic Woven Wood Shades: a premium natural-shade collection woven from bamboo reed, split bamboo, grasses, jute and jute braid, and made to order for your window.
Light filters through the natural weave and lands in your space as a soft, dappled glow that no printed fabric can imitate. The natural material does the decorating: warm, organic, and quietly high-end, in weaves that range from airy and sheer to dense and light-filtering.
Every shade is cordless. Lowering and raising is easy, with stylish folds and with no operating cords anywhere on the window. Choose from no liner, a privacy light filtering liner or a room-darkening liner for bedrooms. 1" edge banding is also available for a framed, tailored finish. Two shades on one headrail for wide windows and patio doors is customizable on site, and if you would like three shades on one headrail, our customer support team will be happy to help with a custom request.
What Makes the Signature Collection Different
- 20 Colorways, 7 Distinct Weaves: From the bright, pale reeds of Dauntless to the deep, coppery split bamboo of Coastline and the fine jute of Berry, every weave has its own texture, density and light quality.
- Genuinely Natural Materials: Bamboo reed, split bamboo, bamboo slat, grasses, jute and jute braid, hand-selected and woven rather than printed. Variation in the weave is part of the look.
- Cordless, Always: Lower the shade by pulling gently on the bottom rail; raise it by lifting guiding the shade up. No cords to reach, tangle or tie off. These shades are perfect around children and pets.
- Liners for Real Privacy: Add a privacy liner to soften the light and turn you into a silhouette from the street, or a room-darkening liner that blocks most light for bedrooms and media rooms. Five liner colors, all neutral to the street.
- Optional 1" Edge Banding: Fabric tape bound along the edges of the shade in your choice of six colors. It frames the weave, adds a tailored contrast, and keeps the cut edge from fraying.
- Wide Windows Covered: Up to 96" wide as a single shade, and up to 144" with two shades on one headrail, each operating independently. Three-on-one headrail available by special request.
- Standard 6" Valance or Old-Style Roman: Choose an integrated 6" valance that hides the headrail and brackets, or the Old-Style Roman look where the material drapes down over the front of the headrail and no valance is needed.
- Hardwood Headrail, Steel Brackets: A sustainably sourced hardwood headrail with steel installation brackets, for inside or outside mount.
How to Choose Your Weave
With natural shades, the weave decides how the shade lives in the room. Here is how to narrow the 20 colorways down:
- Decide how much light you want. Sheer weaves (Dauntless, Berry) let the most light and view through and read casual and breezy. Sheer-to-light-filtering weaves (Spice, Coastline, Zest, Pastry) soften the light more. Light-filtering Guava is the densest of the collection. If you need privacy at night, add a liner: no unlined natural shade is private after dark.
- Then pick your tone. Pale naturals like Glacier, Cream, Eggshell and Sugar Cookie keep a room bright and coastal. Honey, Beeswax, Almond and Chickpea are the warm, classic mid-tones. Firewood, Clove, Nutmeg, Copper, Bronzed and Cola bring depth and pair beautifully with dark floors and furniture. Greyhound and Tin are the cool, modern greys.
- Consider the fiber. Bamboo reed gives crisp horizontal lines; slit bamboo reads flatter and more refined; grass and jute add irregularity and a softer, handcrafted look.
- Match the room. Living rooms and dining rooms suit the sheer and mid-density weaves on their own. Bedrooms, nurseries and media rooms should add a room-darkening liner.
Pro Tip: Natural fibers shift in color through the day and darken slightly with age. Order free samples (up to 10, shipped free) and hold them against your window in morning and afternoon light before you choose.
Good to Know About Natural Shades
- Every shade is one of a kind. Bamboo, reeds, grasses and jute vary in thickness, color and grain, so you may see small gaps, knots, splices or slight bowing in the weave. These are the character of a natural material, not defects, and exact color matches between shades cannot be guaranteed.
- Color evolves. Natural fibers lighten or darken with sunlight and age; uncolored materials shift the most, mellowing over the first three to six months.
- They can stretch a little. The weight of the material can let a shade settle 1" to 1½" over time, most noticeably on inside-mount or floor-length shades. If in doubt, order slightly shorter.
- Cordless is the only lift. This collection is offered exclusively in cordless. Cut-outs and angled tops are not available on cordless natural shades.
Measuring and Installation
Inside mount needs at least ¾" of depth to hold the headrail and 3 3/16" to sit fully flush with the casing behind the standard valance. The headrail is 5/8" high by 2¼" deep. Outside mount works on any flat surface, and optional hold-down brackets secure the bottom rail to a door or sill. Full measuring instructions and the size limits by weave are in the Product Specs and Measuring guides below.

Important Product Notes
- Woven natural shades are made from materials harvested from nature. Variations in color, weave, grain and texture, small gaps or knots, and slight bowing are normal characteristics of bamboo, reed, grass and jute, not defects. Exact color matches between shades cannot be guaranteed.
- Natural fibers change color with sunlight and age. Uncolored materials shift the most, mellowing from green-tinged to yellow-brown over the first three to six months.
- The weight of the material can let a shade stretch or settle by 1" to 1½" after installation, most noticeably on inside-mount or floor-length shades. Ordering slightly shorter compensates for this. If a shade arrives slightly short, hold the bottom rail and pull gently to stretch it.
- Uneven edges after shipping can be tapped straight with a flat edge such as a ruler; loose threads at the edges can be trimmed with sharp scissors.
- This collection is offered in cordless lift only. Cut-outs, angled tops and decorative hems are not available on cordless natural shades.
How to Measure & Install
Taking accurate measurements is straightforward. Let us walk you through the process!
To ensure a perfect fit, keep these essential pointers in mind:
- Always use a metal measuring tape for the best accuracy; fabric tapes can stretch and lead to errors.
- If your width measurement falls on a 1/16" or 1/32" mark, round down to the nearest 1/8".
- If your height measurement lands on a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round up to the closest 1/8".
- Always consult the Product Specifications for the product you are measuring for. If you have questions, we will be happy to help!
Instructions for Inside Mounted Woven Wood Shades
Depth Requirements: For an inside mount, you'll need to make sure the window frame is deep enough to accommodate the woven wood shade. Refer to the Product Specifications for minimum depths depending on your chosen valance option.
Measuring the width
- The width measurement is found by measuring the inside of the window frame in three locations: the top, middle, and bottom.
- Choose the smallest of these measurements.
- If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round down to the nearest 1/8".
- That's your width for your woven wood shades.
Measuring the height
- The height measurement is found by measuring the inside of the window frame in three locations: the left, center, and right.
- Choose the largest of these measurements.
- If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round up to the nearest 1/8".
- That's your height for your woven wood shades.
Instructions for Outside Mounted Woven Wood Shades
An outside mount sits outside of the window and the window frame. Because it is meant to cover the entire space of the window, you'll need to make some additions to the measurements to make sure you order the right size. Please follow the instructions below.
Measuring the width
- Measure the width of the area you want the shade to cover across the top.
- We suggest adding at least 4 inches to the width (2 inches per side) to minimize light gaps.
- That's your width for your woven wood shades.
Measuring the height
- Measure the height from where you want the headrail to sit down to the window sill or desired length.
- We suggest adding at least 4 inches to the height (2 inches top, 2 inches bottom).
- That's your height for your woven wood shades.
