Product Information
Our Signature Light Filtering Single Cellular Shades turn a bright window into a soft, even panel of light. The spunlace fabric diffuses sunlight so glare and hot spots disappear, while neighbors and passers-by see only a gentle glow.
The 3/4" cell gives each pleat a bold, architectural line that looks right on large windows and in tall rooms. Pair it with top-down/bottom-up lift to bring light in over the top while the lower half of the window stays private.
Why You Will Love These Shades
- Soft, Even Light: The spunlace fabric diffuses sunlight to cut glare and hot spots while keeping the room bright and private during the day.
- 3/4" Single Cell Construction: The generous 3/4" pleat gives a bold, tailored face that suits large windows and tall rooms, with fewer, deeper pleats than a smaller cell.
- Comfortable Year Round: The honeycomb traps a layer of air at the glass, softening the sun's heat in summer and slowing heat loss in winter. A real help with heating and cooling bills.
- Three Ways to Lift: Cordless lift is standard. Upgrade to top-down/bottom-up, or choose a continuous cord loop on the left or right for large, heavy shades.
- Up to 144" Wide: Single shades are made up to 120" wide. Wider windows are built as two shades on one headrail so the opening reads as one treatment.
- Clean, Coordinated Hardware: An aluminum headrail and bottom rail color-matched to the fabric, hidden snap-in brackets and a dust cover that keeps debris off the cells.
- Ten Designer Colors: Crisp White Radish and soft Llama, warm French Pastry and Gingerroot, rich Taupe Notch, cool Elegant Dove and Raindance greys, airy Atlantic Frost, deep Canadian Tuxedo navy and dramatic Gala Night.
- Safer for Kids and Pets: The standard cordless lift has no exposed cords. Hold-down brackets for doors are included free on request.
Where Light Filtering Cells Look Their Best
- Living rooms: Bright and welcoming all day, without glare on the TV.
- Kitchens and breakfast nooks: Even, flattering light over the table and counters.
- Home offices: Diffused daylight that keeps screens readable.
- Reading corners: A calm glow without squinting.
- Floor-to-ceiling and corner windows: Large windows read as one clean, pleated surface.
Choose the Right Lift for Each Window
- Cordless (standard): Raise or lower the shade with a gentle push or pull on the bottom rail. Available from 9" to 144" wide and up to 86" high.
- Top-down/bottom-up: Two moving rails let you lower the shade from the top for daylight and privacy at the same time. Available from 15" to 96" wide and up to 86" high.
- Continuous cord loop: A clutch-driven loop on the left or right handles tall, heavy shades with ease. Available from 18 1/2" to 144" wide and up to 144" high, up to 20,800 square inches of fabric.
- Sky pole: For cordless or top-down/bottom-up shades out of reach, add a 6 ft or 9 ft sky pole. Shades over 24" wide work best with two poles.
What "Light Filtering" Means in Your Room
Light filtering sits between sheer and blackout. Daylight passes through the fabric and spreads evenly across the room, but you cannot see through it during the day. After dark, with lights on inside, silhouettes can show from outside, so pair it with blackout or drapery in rooms that need night-time privacy.
Cooler Summers, Warmer Winters
Windows are where most of a room's heat comes in on a summer afternoon and slips out on a winter night. The honeycomb traps a layer of air at the glass, softening the sun's heat in summer and slowing heat loss in winter. Close the shades on hot afternoons and cold evenings and you will feel the difference.
Compare Our Signature Cellular Shades
| Fabric | Light Control | Insulation | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3/4" Single Cell Blackout | Full blackout | Cells plus a metallic liner | Bedrooms, nurseries, media rooms |
| 1/2" Double Cell Blackout | Full blackout | Two layers of cells plus a sealed film | Street-facing bedrooms, drafty windows |
| 3/4" Single Cell Light Filtering (this shade) | Soft filtered light | One layer of insulating cells | Living rooms, kitchens, offices |
| 1/2" Double Cell Light Filtering | Soft filtered light | Two layers of cells | Sunrooms, family rooms, older windows |
The same 3/4" single cell light filtering fabric is also available as a skylight shade and as a vertical cellular shade for sliding doors, so a bedroom window, its skylight and the patio door can all match.

How to Measure & Install
Taking accurate measurements is straightforward. Let us walk you through the process!
To ensure a perfect fit, keep these essential pointers in mind:
- Always use a metal measuring tape for the best accuracy; fabric tapes can stretch and lead to errors.
- If your width measurement falls on a 1/16" or 1/32" mark, round down to the nearest 1/8".
- If your height measurement lands on a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round up to the closest 1/8".
- Always consult the Product Specifications for the product you are measuring for. If you have questions, we will be happy to help!
Instructions for Inside Mounted Cellular Shades
Depth Requirements: For an inside mount, you'll need to make sure the window frame is deep enough to accommodate the cellular shade. Refer to the Product Specifications for minimum depths depending on your chosen valance option.
Measuring the width
- The width measurement is found by measuring the inside of the window frame in three locations: the top, middle, and bottom.
- Choose the smallest of these measurements.
- If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round down to the nearest 1/8".
- That's your width for your cellular shades.
Measuring the height
- The height measurement is found by measuring the inside of the window frame in three locations: the left, center, and right.
- Choose the largest of these measurements.
- If you get a 1/16" or 1/32" increment, round up to the nearest 1/8".
- That's your height for your cellular shades.
Instructions for Outside Mounted Cellular Shades
An outside mount sits outside of the window and the window frame. Because it is meant to cover the entire space of the window, you'll need to make some additions to the measurements to make sure you order the right size. Please follow the instructions below.
Measuring the width
- Measure the width of the area you want the shade to cover across the top.
- We suggest adding at least 4 inches to the width (2 inches per side) to minimize light gaps.
- That's your width for your cellular shades.
Measuring the height
- Measure the height from where you want the headrail to sit down to the window sill or desired length.
- We suggest adding at least 4 inches to the height (2 inches top, 2 inches bottom).
- That's your height for your cellular shades.
